Drawing on her South Korean heritage and upbringing in New York City, Yung-wu’s work delves into themes of identity, memory, and cultural fluidity. Her intuitive process involves unconventional tools such as cardboard and found objects, creating richly textured and layered compositions. Balancing spontaneity with deliberate mark-making, her paintings capture the ephemeral nature of experience.
